Assistant Program Manager

Iyyappan has completed his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Annamalai University. Later he joined as a Junior Research Fellow at IIT – Guwahati, where he developed interest in data analysis and research while working on Waste Water Treatment. He has also done an Independent Research on Solid Waste Management in the state of Tamil Nadu, to design an integrated solid waste segregating machine for local communities.

Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology has awarded Iyyappan a fund of INR 15000 for his project on ‘Lignin binding with bitumen for road construction’.


Currently Iyyappan is working as an Assistant Program Manager with the Zero Plastic Waste City project and is committed towards making Pondicherry a Plastic Waste Free City through plastic recovery and recycling. His long-term goal is to be a social entrepreneur and provide sustainable livelihood opportunity for many.

We proudly announce that on Wednesday, 15th June 2022 we will host the public launch event of our project “SINA – Soziale Innovationen für Nachhaltigkeit” at the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection. With high-level speakers, we will discuss the role of social innovations in the sustainability transformation in Germany and present first project insights to the audience.
