Leonard Mwasi
Program Manager
Leonard is a Program Manager at Yunus Environment Hub. He is coordinating program related activities Circular Economy for social businesses in Kenya. Leonard has also been involved in capacity building exercises, carrying out trainings and business coaching sessions across multiple programs at YEH including the Build Back Better (CirculaRise) Program, GrowUp incubator and Smart Cities Innovation program.
Prior to joining Yunus Environment Hub, Leonard served as Enterprise Development Officer at Equity Group Foundation, providing training on financial literacy and entrepreneurship education to agriculture-based SMEs with the aim of improving financial access through technology. Leonard also served as Program Manager at IREN Kenya where he ran partner-led acceleration programs for youth owned SME and early-stage innovators. He has competencies in project design and management, training and facilitation of training activities, research, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation planning and proficiency in innovation lifecycles. Leonard has a passion for innovation and pushes for the development of smart sustainable innovations that contribute towards circular Economy.
Leonard holds a Master’s in Business Administration (Finance) for Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Science degree (strategic management) from Moi University. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys rugby, football and cricket. Leonard is also keen on art, culture and history, spending his free time watching documentaries or exploring new places.
