Kiara Winona Sweeney
Program Director
Kiara is the Program Director at Yunus Environment Hub, where she leads a team of program managers to ensure the successful delivery of all active programs. She also spearheads the Circular Impact Procurement Initiative in Germany and contributes to the strategic development and realization of YEH’s mission: tackling environmental challenges and supporting social businesses globally.
Kiara brings professional experience across Big Tech and a range of other sectors. She has developed and scaled initiatives across Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America, managing significant strategic budgets and reaching users and beneficiaries globally. Before joining Yunus Environment Hub in 2024, she developed sustainability strategies at Amazon and led pilots for low-emission last-mile delivery and micromobility solutions across Europe. Previously, at Microsoft, she managed the launch and implementation of digital solutions across multiple international markets.
Alongside her professional work, Kiara is passionate about social and environmental causes and volunteers with initiatives including the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, EuroTeQ Collider, the 3ZERO Club, Tafel München, and Bahnhofsmission München. Her engagement has been recognized through programmes including the Salzburg Global Fellowship, African-German Young Leaders in Business, the EU Climate Pact, the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, and COP28’s RINGO constituency. A first-generation graduate, she holds a BSc in International Management from WHU and is completing a BSc in Political Science at the Technical University of Munich.
