Kiara Sweeney
Program Director
Kiara Sweeney is the Program Director at Yunus Environment Hub, where she leads a team of program managers to ensure the successful delivery of all active programs. She also spearheads the new Circular Impact Procurement Initiative in Germany, and contributes to the strategic development and realization of YEH’s mission: tackling environmental challenges and supporting social businesses globally.
Kiara joined Yunus Environment Hub in November 2024, bringing professional experience from diverse sectors and global locations. Her career spans the automotive, healthcare, financial services, technology, and logistics industries, with professional experience across the US, India, Ireland, and Germany. Most recently, she developed sustainability strategies at Amazon in Europe, focusing on decarbonizing last-mile delivery and implementing micromobility solutions. Prior to that, she managed digital transformation projects at Microsoft, empowering organizations through technology adoption.
Kiara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from WHU and is pursuing a second degree in Political Science with a focus on Sustainability at the Technical University of Munich. Passionate about social and environmental causes, she volunteers as a Sustainability Officer with Global Shapers Munich, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, and collaborates with the Boston Consulting Group on initiatives like Sustainability@School, which educates high school students on climate change and sustainable entrepreneurship. She advocates for urgent climate change as a certified Climate Reality Leader through Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project and also dedicates her time to Bahnhofsmission Munich and Tafel Munich, providing support to individuals in need.
In her leisure time, she enjoys travel, reading, spending time in nature, preferably hiking, spicy food, karate, and exploring new activities.
