Kate Carrillo

Impact Officer

Kate is an Impact Officer at the Yunus Environment Hub. She is passionate about social business, job creation, and sustainable economic development.

Before joining the Yunus Environment Hub, she led her family business Productos Buller in the arts and crafts sector, as well as developed her own social start-up Expertor focused on the home repairments sector in Colombia. She has also mentored social enterprises as part of the BridgeForBillions program and the MIT COVID-19 Latam Hackathon. She has strong expertise in working with SMEs, business development, and project management.

Born and raised in Cali (Colombia), she has worked and studied in multicultural environments in Colombia, Germany, the UK, Australia, and Kenya. She is also fluent in Spanish, English, and German. Kate holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering, a Specialization in Social Intervention Processes (both from the Universidad Del Valle) and a MSc in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship (from the London School of Economic). She is also part of the Global Shapers community – an initiative of the World Economic Forum.

Kate loves putting her head into solving everyday challenges and acquiring new abilities from yoga, cycling, knitting to impact investing.
