Prior to joining Yunus Environment Hub in October 2024, Julia has been building up EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), co-funded by the European Union and by now the largest innovation ecosystem on sustainable urban mobility in Europe, holding the position of Head of Strategy.
As an expert in the field of sustainable mobility in cities, she is serving as German delegate in the Technical Committee on Mobility in Urban Areas at PIARC (World Road Association), is a successful business founder herself and holds university lectures on mobility and innovation in Europe and Asia.
She gathered vast experience building innovation ecosystems at the intersection of the public and the private sectors at TUM International GmbH, a subsidiary of the Technical University of Munich, and in the area of international cooperation and development from a national (GIZ, German Bundestag) and multilateral (UN) perspective. Additionally, she volunteered for NGOs in the environmental (Global 2000) and humanitarian sectors (The Hunger Project).
Julia holds a Master in International Management (CEMS) from HEC Paris and Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) as well as Bachelor of Science in International Business and Chinese Studies from Tsinghua University and WU.
In her free time Julia climbs mountains, travels to explore new cultures and cooks her way through the cuisines of our world.
